Hatch in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to drive major transport projects within our multi-disciplinary team. You will apply your roads/highways expertise, lead design work, and coordinate with DTMR projects across Queensland.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration, and delivering safe, innovative solutions while guiding projects from tender through detailed design in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Registration as an RPEQ or CPEng highly regarded.
• Strong safety awareness and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising civil engineering design for freeways, intersections, bulk earthworks, roads and rail
• Preparing, reviewing and checking engineering calculations, technical specifications, data sheets and reports
• Reviewing and checking engineering drawings
• Providing input to engineering, operating and cost estimates
• Leading in and contributing to design reviews
• Leading designs from tender through feasibility to detailed design
• Managing commercial aspects of projects
• Assisting with bidding and tenders
