Job summary

The role focuses on delivering major road infrastructure, with advanced 12D capability and the ability to lead design delivery while mentoring junior designers across concept to detailed design and construction phases.

Principal Civil Designer - Transportation & Roads

Brisbane | Major Roads & Transport Projects | Permanent

The Opportunity

Titan Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Principal Civil Designer to join a leading engineering consultancy's Transportation & Roads team in Brisbane.

This is a senior technical position suited to a designer with strong TMR and major road infrastructure experience, advanced 12D capability and the ability to lead design delivery while mentoring junior team members.

You will work across complex road and transport projects, engaging directly with clients, contractors, project stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

About the Role

• Developing detailed civil and road designs using 12D
• Road geometry, horizontal and vertical alignments, intersections and interchanges
• Bulk earthworks, drainage and associated civil infrastructure
• Delivering designs in accordance with TMR standards and specifications
• Working across major road and infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design and construction
• Reviewing designs and providing technical input to project teams
• Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
• Supporting project delivery, design coordination and technical problem-solving
• Managing and mentoring junior and intermediate designers
• Contributing to design methodologies, standards and continuous improvement
• Working collaboratively with civil, structural, traffic, geotechnical and other engineering disciplines

About You

You will be an experienced Civil Designer with a strong background in transportation and major road infrastructure.

Ideally, you will have:

• Significant experience delivering major road and transport projects
• Strong working knowledge of TMR standards, specifications and design requirements
• Advanced 12D Civil capability
• Proven experience with road geometry, alignments, intersections, earthworks and drainage
• Experience working across large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
• Strong client, contractor and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience coordinating or leading design packages
• Demonstrated ability to review and quality-check technical designs
• Experience mentoring and developing junior designers

Strong communication and organisational skills

A practical understanding of project delivery and construction requirements
