Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer in Brisbane to lead major mining, energy and infrastructure projects across Australia. Based in our Brisbane or Melbourne/Perth options, you will drive multidisciplinary teams from concept through detailed design and construction support, delivering safe, practical and innovative civil solutions with a client-focused approach.

You will mentor engineers, manage complex design deliverables and collaborate with project managers to ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent recognised qualification.
15+ years of experience delivering mining, resources, energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) through Engineers Australia, or eligibility to obtain chartership.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate civil engineering delivery for major mining, energy, industrial and infrastructure projects.
Provide technical leadership across bulk earthworks, site grading, drainage, roads, and pavements.
Act as the Civil Discipline Lead, ensuring designs meet project, client and Australian regulatory requirements.
Oversee and approve engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications and contract documentation.
Perform QA/QC reviews of civil designs, drawings and project deliverables.
Work closely with project managers, clients and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Mentor, coach and develop civil engineers and designers across project teams.
Support business development activities, proposal preparation, client engagement and project planning.
