Job summary

NSW Health Pathology at Westmead Hospital seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead the Haematology service. You will guide a high-performing team, drive service excellence and support safe, high-quality diagnostic outcomes across NSW Health Pathology.

In this leadership role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, champion innovation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to strategic planning and workforce development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification.
• Proven leadership and operational management experience.
• Experience with quality improvement and risk management.
• Experience in budgeting and resource management.
• Strategic thinking and professional networks in pathology.

Responsibilities

• Manage the laboratory to provide an efficient and effective service across operations, compliance, budgeting and reporting.
• Lead workforce development and strategic planning for the Haematology service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of a large, complex laboratory and collaborate with stakeholders.
