Job summary

Woolworths Group in Sydney is seeking a high-caliber finance professional to step into a 12-month parental leave cover in our award-winning Finance function. You will shape public, Board, and Group Executive financial reporting, working in a dynamic team that offers genuine workplace flexibility.

You will draft and finalise half-year and annual reports, present complex financial information to Group Executives, and partner with business units to ensure compliance under accounting standards.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification with 4–6 years of experience in Big 4 or ASX-listed entities or FMCG/retail.
• Expertise in internal and external financial reporting with deep technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience writing for and presenting complex financial information to Group Executives and Board members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting, editing, and finalisation of the Group’s half-year and annual Financial Reports.
• Prepare high-profile profit announcements, analyst presentations, and core performance metrics.
• Conduct detailed Financial Statement Analysis across select P&L and Balance Sheet items.
• Draft executive-level finance papers and technical reports for the CFO, Board, and Audit Committee.
• Partner with business unit finance teams to guide compliance on accounting standards and disclosures.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors during full-year and interim group audits.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

• CA/CPA qualification with 4–6 years of experience across Big 4 accounting, large ASX-listed entities, or FMCG/retail.
• Extensive expertise in internal and external financial reporting with deep technical accounting knowledge.
• Proven capability in writing for and presenting complex financial information to Group Executives and Board members.
• Advanced Excel skills with prior exposure to enterprise finance systems such as SAP and OneStream highly regarded.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment and project outcomes.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships across a complex matrix environment.
