Job summary

Woolworths Group in Brisbane is seeking a Payroll Quality Coach in a hybrid role. You will drive coaching programs, onboarding, and continuous improvement across the payroll function to ensure compliant, high-quality payroll delivery.

The role requires strong payroll expertise for AU/NZ, hands-on SAP and SuccessFactors experience, and the ability to lead a culture of service and collaboration. Secondment opportunity and broad exposure across ANZ.

Qualifications

• Proven coaching delivery that raises payroll accuracy and service levels.
• Strong knowledge of AU/NZ payroll compliance and enterprise agreements.
• Experience with SAP payroll ecosystem and integration with SuccessFactors/UKG.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

This is a pivotal opportunity to advance your career and make a tangible impact as our Payroll Quality Coach. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the capability, confidence, and overall success of our Payroll Team. You will champion a culture of service, excellence and collaboration, ensuring our operations are not only compliant but set the standard for quality and consistency.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to:

Champion Continuous Learning & Capability: Design and deliver tailored coaching programs that raise the bar for payroll accuracy and service delivery. Translate performance metrics into constructive feedback that builds confidence and sharpens technical skills.

Elevate Onboarding & Development: Lead a seamless, engaging onboarding journey for new hires. Ensure all training and learning collateral remain best in class and aligned with payroll compliance.

Drive Process & Strategic Improvement: Partner closely with Payroll Leadership Team and key stakeholders to identify friction points, simplify end-to-end processes, and champion continuous improvement across the payroll function.

Transform Data into Actionable Insights: Analyse team trends, accuracy metrics, and performance data to proactively address knowledge gaps, boost operational efficiency, and elevate the overall team member experience.

Foster a High-Performance Culture: Serve as a culture champion, cultivating an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment where team members feel empowered to excel and grow.

What you'll bring

Proven Talent & Coaching Expertise: A strong track record of developing people through targeted coaching, actionable feedback, and structured capability building that drives team confidence and performance.

AU/NZ Payroll & Legislative Acumen: Comprehensive knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll compliance, award interpretation, and Enterprise Agreements, backed by a strong risk-management mindset.

SAP & SuccessFactors Proficiency: Hands-on technical expertise within the SAP payroll ecosystem and its integration with SuccessFactors and UKG.

Agility & Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the initiative to drive continuous process improvement, prioritise competing tasks, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Operational Insight: Background in Payroll Operations; direct, end-to-end payroll processing experience is highly advantageous (though not strictly mandatory).

Collaborative & Autonomous Mindset: A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently while seamlessly collaborating across cross-functional teams.
