Job summary

Solera in Melbourne seeks a Senior Application Services Engineer to join a global support team, managing hundreds of products and applications worldwide and collaborating with development and architecture to consolidate caching and messaging systems, while centralising logging.

You will drive automation, monitor across Windows and Linux stacks, with experience in middleware, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and Atlassian tools to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication in English and ability to guide problem-solving processes.
• Experience supporting production systems in Windows and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with middleware and web/application servers.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting and automation tools (GitHub, Ansible).
• Knowledge of cloud concepts (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on-prem VMware environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 L3 on-call support for critical customer-facing applications.
• Support a broad range of technologies across web apps, middleware, databases, and networks.
• Develop automation to deploy applications and reduce manual toil.
• Install, configure, and tune middleware and web servers.
• Set up monitoring and resolve alerts using modern tools.
• Work with development/architecture to optimize footprint and costs in cloud/on-prem environments.
• Centralize logging and ensure up-to-date operational documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement of reliability and performance.
