Job summary

Orelogy, part of the Perenti Group, is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead a Perth-based consulting team. You will provide strategic geotechnical expertise, governance, and client-facing support across a diverse portfolio of mining projects, including both open pit and underground operations.

You will mentor engineers, participate in technical reviews and audits, and contribute to geotechnical strategy, risk management, and business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years' geotechnical engineering experience across mining methods and commodities.
• Strong experience in open pit and underground mining environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in ground control, slope stability, underground design, and geotechnical risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide principal-level geotechnical engineering support across underground and open pit operations and projects.
• Lead technical reviews, governance activities, and assurance programs for clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct geotechnical audits, risk assessments, compliance reviews, and performance evaluations.
• Review GCMPs, TARPs, and related standards; provide guidance.
• Deliver site-based geotechnical assessments and recommendations for operating and development projects.
• Mentor and develop geotechnical engineers and consultants across the business.
• Contribute to due diligence, tender submissions, and project risk assessments.
