Job summary

Greatland Holdings Group Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership across underground mining operations at Telfer. The role focuses on managing geotechnical risks, supporting safe extraction, and driving continuous improvement through engineering practices and collaboration with operational teams.

This permanent full-time position operates on an 8/6 roster and is FIFO from Perth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Civil Engineering
Minimum 5 years' underground geotechnical engineering experience.
Current Manual C Class Driver's Licence.
Practical knowledge of rock mass classification systems, geotechnical modelling, mine design, and ground support practices.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and expert geotechnical advice for underground mining operations.
Monitor ground conditions, excavation performance, and ground support systems.
Develop and review geotechnical management plans, monitoring programs, and numerical models.
Support mine planning with timely geotechnical assessments and recommendations.
Investigate geotechnical incidents and implement corrective actions.
Mentor junior engineers and promote safety and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with teams, contractors, and consultants to optimize outcomes.
