Job summary

Alliance Geotechnical is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead projects across the lifecycle from investigation through CPS. Based in Sydney, you will guide project managers on simpler projects or lead more complex ones, with routine site meetings and bespoke CPS inspections.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate subcontractors, contribute to tenders, and ensure safety, quality and commercial outcomes while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or related fields).
• 8–10+ years in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
• Professional body membership with Chartered status preferred.
• Experience in geotechnical engineering with at least two specialisations.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical projects end-to-end, guiding PMs and directing teams on complex work.
• Coordinate large drill rigs, hand tools, and subcontractors to keep projects on track.
• Contribute to tenders and proposals, managing scope and risk for bids.
• Train engineers in investigation techniques and review fieldwork and reports.
• Prepare or review interpretative reports and CPS inspections across projects.
