Job summary

Macquarie Geotechnical Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead high-level geotechnical services for diverse projects. You will report to Technical Managers and guide a team of engineers and drillers, delivering tender responses, reports and design recommendations.

The role requires chartered registration or progression toward CPEng, a Civil Engineering or Geology degree, and 8+ years’ experience in geotechnical consultancy or site investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Geology required.
• At least 8 years’ experience in a similar geotechnical role.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organised.
• Excellent communication skills (spoken and written).
• Proficiency with Open Ground, Slope Stability Software, CIRCLY and QGIS.

Responsibilities

• Commitment to safety and compliance with WHS requirements.
• Prepare tenders, safety documentation and technical reports for geotechnical investigations and interpretations.
• Provide advice on excavations, earthworks, foundations, pavements and temporary works.
• Manage teams through geotechnical investigations and construction phases, liaising with clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and drillers.
• Attend site visits and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
