Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations, analyses and design across residential, transport and infrastructure projects in Australia. The role offers a Sydney base with options to base in Wollongong, Newcastle or Canberra, and flexible work arrangements including work-from-home and added leave.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, manage project scopes, and contribute to proposals while delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions and client service across diverse

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with geotechnical electives or major.
• Approximately 5 years’ experience in a consulting environment or recognised Senior Engineer level.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as OpenGround, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, Rocscience, CIRCLY and AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication, project management and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate geotechnical investigations, field programs, site testing and data acquisition.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
• Deliver geotechnical assessments and design solutions for foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, pipelines and slopes.
• Provide technical review and QA to ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Lead and contribute to proposals and business development initiatives.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and resources for successful outcomes.
• Build and maintain client relationships and mentor junior engineers.
