Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations and deliver design solutions for residential, transport and infrastructure projects in Australia. The role supports site characterisation, design, and construction review, with opportunities for flexible work arrangements across Sydney and regional offices.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage project scope and budgets, and build strong client relationships while delivering high-quality geotechnical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with geotechnical electives or major.
• Approximately 5 years of consulting experience or recognized as a Senior Engineer.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate geotechnical investigations, field programs, site testing and data acquisition.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
• Deliver geotechnical assessments and design solutions for foundations, earthworks and slope stability.
• Provide technical review and quality assurance to ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Lead and contribute to proposal preparation and business development.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and resources for successful outcomes.
• Build and maintain client relationships and mentor junior engineers.
