Job summary

Catalyst Metals Limited is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead ground control across underground and open pit operations in Western Australia, as part of a growing multi-mine portfolio. FIFO from Perth, you will drive geotechnical best practice and mentor a developing team.

You’ll collaborate with mining, geology and operations to ensure safe, efficient and profitable outcomes while aligning with site planning and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical, Mining or Civil Engineering or related field
• 6–10+ years in underground hard rock geotechnical engineering
• Knowledge of rock mechanics and ground support design
• Experience supporting mine planning and operations
• Proficiency with Deswik and Rocscience Suite
• Good WA mining regulatory knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical activities across underground and surface mining operations
• Develop and implement ground control strategies and management plans
• Manage geotechnical risks through assessments and monitoring
• Provide input to mine design, planning and decisions
• Oversee ground support design, mapping and seismic monitoring
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices
