Job summary

Glencore's Hunter Valley Operations is seeking a Senior Geologist to lead the Geology Team and provide site geological support to operations. The role emphasizes mentoring, stakeholder engagement and delivering actionable insights for short-term CHPP feed planning.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate complex geological information clearly, and drive continuous improvement in geology practices while based on site in the Hunter Valley.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in Geology or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mining operations with geological/geotechnical support.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to assess opportunities and risks.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Senior Geologist leads the Geology Team to deliver site geological support to operations personnel.

You will have a high level of exposure to stakeholders and engagement with all levels of the business and will be provided mentoring and development opportunities to further your career path.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Lead a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve process and people performance.

• Provide technical oversight and mentoring to the Mine Geologist.

• Liaising with various stakeholders regarding short term CHPP feed planning.

• You will have excellent communication skills, coupled with high initiative.

ROSTER AND LOCATION

• Monday to Friday professional roster

• Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)

ABOUT YOU
