Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Front-end) to lead architecture, delivery and development of scalable web applications at our Adelaide Product Innovation Centre. You will work hands-on to deliver high-quality software with strong focus on UX, performance and accessibility.

We require 6+ years in software engineering, expertise in JavaScript/React, and experience with design systems, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS).

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a hands-on Software Engineering role.
• Experience building high-traffic customer facing web applications.
• Strong experience with front end technologies (JavaScript, React JS, HTML, CSS).
• Experience with design systems and reusable components across repositories.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda).
• Passion for UX, browser performance and accessibility.
• Containerisation tech such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and Git.
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog).
• Commitment to quality, clean code and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Guide and lead architecture, delivery and development of software systems.
• Hands-on development and code contribution for high quality software.
• Ensure reliability, performance and security of systems.
• Mentor juniors and promote best practices across teams.
