Job summary
BG&E, now part of the SYSTRA Group, is seeking a Senior Flooding & Hydrology Engineer to join our NSW team in Sydney. This full-time role (or 4 days/week) offers the chance to lead flood studies and modelling across major projects.
You'll work on hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessments, and reporting, mentoring juniors, and advancing to Associate/Technical Lead. NSW experience and Chartered status are highly regarded.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science with strong hydrology focus.
- 7+ years in flood assessments, hydrology, and hydraulic modelling in Australian consulting
- NSW experience strongly preferred; major infrastructure project exposure
- Expert level in hydrology/hydraulic modelling using RORB, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS
- Knowledge of Australian Rainfall and Runoff and statutory procedures
- Chartered status and familiarity with 12d and DRAINS is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Lead flooding and hydrology projects, ensuring quality on time and budget
- Deliver hydrologic studies, hydraulic analyses, flood mapping and reports
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical work
- Collaborate with clients, authorities, and project teams
