Job summary

BMT is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer based in Australia. The role delivers high quality flood and water resources engineering services, often leading small to medium projects and mentoring junior staff.

Arguably the role includes project management, client liaison, and technical paper authorship, with opportunities to advance towards Chartered status and leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience developing, calibrating and simulating flood models (TUFLOW).
• 5–7 years’ experience post-graduation.
• Pursuing professional registration with a recognised body.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional technical work requiring experience and knowledge.
• Supervise and review junior engineers.
• Provide strategic technical advice to clients.
• Lead or act as Project Manager on flood-related projects.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain quality standards.
• Engage with clients for service delivery and business development.
