Job summary

REA Group in Melbourne seeks a Senior Product Manager - FinOps to own the FinOps product capability and its governance, guiding cloud spend decisions with finance and technology partners. You will shape the roadmap and build cost-aware practices across engineering, procurement and product teams.

The role blends product management with practical FinOps expertise, partnering across Finance, Procurement, Legal and Technology to deliver cost insights, dashboards and controls that drive responsible

Qualifications

• Experienced product manager capable of owning an internal technology product from discovery through delivery, adoption and continuous improvement.
• Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen to guide cloud spend decisions.
• Pragmatic FinOps practitioner who can translate detailed cloud cost data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the FinOps product vision, strategy, roadmap, prioritisation and backlog in line with technology and financial goals.
• Lead discovery with engineering, product, finance, procurement and business stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities.
• Deliver productised FinOps capabilities such as FinOut dashboards and budget-limit alerting.
• Define outcomes, measures and adoption approach using data and feedback to improve value.
• Make cloud cost information clear, trusted and actionable for engineers, product teams and finance leaders.
• Provide guidance on cloud cost management, optimisation and responsible resource usage.
• Partner with Finance on cloud spend reporting including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Identify and track cloud savings opportunities (rightsizing, commitments, usage optimisation).
• Establish governance and guardrails for cost allocation, tagging, budgets and lifecycle management.
• Help teams understand financial impact of technology decisions and embed cost considerations in planning.
