Job summary

SEEK is seeking a FinOps Engineer in Melbourne to optimise cloud spend and drive cost governance. You will work with Engineering, Platform, Operations and Finance to forecast, analyse and govern cloud costs while enabling agile delivery and AI-enabled insights.

You will build dashboards, automate cost insights, and help teams make cost-aware decisions. The role offers flexible hybrid work arrangements and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
• AWS, GCP, and/or FinOps certifications are preferred.
• Proficiency in scripting or coding (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Experience with cloud cost management tools and services.
• Experience building BI dashboards and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Drive cloud cost optimization, including rightsizing and waste reduction.
• Develop dashboards and actionable insights on cloud spend and trends.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance to align usage with budgets.
• Participate in architecture reviews to ensure cost-efficient solutions.
• Leverage AI tooling to automate insight generation at scale.
• Establish, automate and govern FinOps policies and processes.
• Investigate cost anomalies and implement fixes.
• Promote a cost-aware culture and deliver FinOps workshops.
