Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial & Statutory Reporting to lead the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial statements and external reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards. The role reports to the Director, Financial Control & Compliance and has three direct reports.

Qualifications

• More than 10 years in consolidated statutory external reporting and compliance.
• Experience in audit management within a large, regulated environment.
• Proven leadership of high-performing finance teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead timely, accurate statutory financial reporting including month-end close and external audits.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Provide expert technical accounting advice with robust governance and documentation.
• Develop relationships with external stakeholders such as NSW Audit Office and NSW Treasury.
• Oversee financial reporting for annual reports and council submissions.
• Lead policy development and continuous improvement of accounting practices.
• Strengthen financial controls and drive data quality and automation.
• Lead, develop and empower the Financial and Statutory Reporting team.
