Job summary

National Intermodal seeks a Senior Financial Modeller to join the Commercial team in our Sydney office. You will develop and maintain financial models underpinning business cases and major investments for intermodal precincts, with broad commercial input and validation across teams.

The role requires CA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent and extensive experience building complex models, scenario analyses, and valuation techniques. Strong communication and AI-enabled tooling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related discipline.
• CA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Significant experience building and maintaining complex financial models in corporate/infrastructure environments.
• Commercially astute with ability to assess scenarios and value drivers.
• Advanced Excel modelling including three-way models, scenario analysis and model auditing.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, cashflow forecasting and investment metrics.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear communication to influence stakeholders and present complex analysis clearly.
• Experience leveraging AI-enabled technologies to improve modelling efficiency.
• Experience in infrastructure, logistics, construction, property, energy or capital-intensive sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Developing, maintaining and enhancing integrated financial models for major projects, capex, and long-term planning.
• Modeling revenue, opex, financing, cashflow, valuation, returns and sensitivity analyses.
• Preparing financial analysis to support project evaluation and business cases.
• Undertaking scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and stress testing with insights for viability.
• Partnering with Finance, Strategy, Delivery, Commercial and Procurement to validate assumptions.
• Preparing modelling outputs and decision-support materials for senior leadership and Board.
