Job summary

Asia Pacific Resources International Holdings – Surry Hills NSW is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day finance function across corporate, funds and asset entities, ensuring integrity of financial controls and robust reporting.

You will manage a small finance team, drive month-end close, statutory reporting, tax obligations and treasury, and partner with leadership to support acquisitions, budgeting and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification with substantial post-qualification experience.
• Funds management accounting experience, including trust accounting, distributions and investor reporting.
• Strong technical accounting and current knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Proven ownership of month-end, statutory reporting and external audit.
• Experience leading and developing a small team.
• A track record of improving systems, processes and controls.
• The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance people, and the confidence to raise issues early.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close and monthly management reporting across corporate, fund and asset entities with insightful commentary.
• Fund accounting, including trust accounting, distributions and investor reporting.
• Property accounting, including outgoings, recoveries and asset-level reporting.
• Statutory reporting, external audit and all tax obligations, with external advisers.
• Treasury, cash flow forecasting and debt facility administration, including covenant reporting.
• Annual budget, rolling forecasts and scenario analysis to support leadership decisions.
• Finance systems and process improvement to reduce single-person dependency.
• Financial support on acquisitions, disposals and capital transactions.
