Job summary

South West Sydney is seeking an experienced Financial Manager/Controller to own the finance function for a Sydney-based commercial joinery business. The role covers multiple entities in a busy project environment.

Responsibilities include monthly management reporting, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and intercompany reconciliations, with a hands-on approach to job costing, progress claims, and payroll. Strong MYOB and Excel skills are essential, as is experience in multi-entity accounting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role.
• Construction/joinery/manufacturing/project-based experience is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, progress claims and retentions.
• Experience with MYOB and multi-entity accounting.
• Payroll and compliance experience with BAS, IAS, PAYG, superannuation.

Responsibilities

• Monthly management reporting, P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.
• Month-end/year-end close, reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
• Job costing, WIP and project margin analysis.
• Progress claims and retentions processing.
• Cashflow forecasting and working capital management.
• AP, AR and weekly payroll.
• BAS, IAS, PAYG, super and payroll tax processing.
• MYOB management and process improvement.
• Liaising with external accountants and supporting the MD with commercial reporting.
