Job summary

A Class Metal Products Pty Ltd in Caringbah, NSW invites a Senior Fabrication Draftsperson to join our team. This role covers site measure through drafting, fabrication and QA, not purely desk-based work, with hands-on involvement from start to finish.

You will produce precise fabrication drawings, perform 2D/3D CAD tasks, measure on site, check constructability and collaborate with fabricators, builders and customers to resolve issues and ensure accurate, install-ready results.

Qualifications

• Strong fabrication or manufacturing drafting experience.
• Good knowledge of stainless steel, aluminium or sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience reading architectural and fabrication drawings.
• Accurate site-measuring ability.
• Good spatial and dimensional awareness.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work directly with tradespeople, builders and customers.
• A practical approach to solving fabrication problems.
• Experience with TIG welding, folding, laser cutting, architectural metalwork or custom fabrication would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate fabrication and shop drawings
• 2D and 3D CAD drafting
• Attending site to take accurate measurements
• Converting site information into practical fabrication details
• Reviewing drawings for constructability before fabrication
• Liaising directly with fabricators, builders and customers
• Resolving technical issues during fabrication
• Checking critical dimensions, orientation and components
• Participating in our workshop QA process
• Ensuring the latest approved drawings are being followed
