Job summary

Minchin Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled External Audit professional to join our Brisbane team. You will work with audit Managers and Partners to deliver engagements, communicate with clients, and produce clear, well-supported findings.

The role requires 3–5 years in external audit, progress toward or completion of CA/CPA, and solid knowledge of Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards. Hybrid work follows onboarding.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of external audit experience in an accounting firm.
• CA or CPA studies substantially progressed, or a completed qualification.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Auditing Standards.
• Experience preparing audit workpapers and supporting engagement delivery.
• Confidence communicating with clients and resolving information requests.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to audit planning and identify key financial reporting risks.
• Perform audit procedures across financial statements and supporting records.
• Assess internal controls and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare audit workpapers and document evidence and conclusions.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Identify accounting and audit issues for discussion with Managers and Partners.
• Support the preparation of findings and client communications.
• Manage allocated work against engagement deadlines and budgets.
• Support junior team members as appropriate to experience.

The Role

The Brisbane CBD office is approximately a five-minute walk from Central Station, while Brendale provides an alternative base for candidates on the northside.
