Role Description

The Senior Event & Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Darwin Area with Travel to South Australia. This role is responsible for end-to-end planning and delivery of events and festivals, including scoping requirements, creating event schedules, coordinating logistics, and managing supplier and stakeholder relationships. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing bump-in and bump-out operations, supervising staff and contractors, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The position also involves collaborating with creative and production teams, preparing operational documentation and reports, and continuously improving processes for future events. The Senior Event & Operations Manager will serve as a key point of contact during pre-production, live event periods, and post-event reviews.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in event management and major festival operations, including planning, execution, and post-event evaluation.
  • Strong skills in logistics coordination, vendor and supplier management, and on-site operational oversight.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources, with solid project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
  • Knowledge of risk management, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements for public events.
  • Ability to work in dynamic, outdoor, and time-sensitive environments, including evenings and weekends when required.
  • Proficiency with event management software, scheduling tools, and basic office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in event management, hospitality, business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the Australian events or entertainment industry.
