Job summary

Multicultural Consulting Services Pty seeks an experienced Lead Estimator to lead bottom-up pricing for major clean energy bids, including solar, wind, battery storage and HV connections. You will build labour, plant, materials and subcontract cost models and translate drawings into bills of quantities.

The role offers office options in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with flexible-working support and a clear path for professional and leadership progression within a growing infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Civil or Renewable Energy Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• At least seven years estimating with a Tier 1/2 contractor or EPC on utility-scale renewables above $100m.
• Advanced cost modelling in Excel and first-principles estimating software capability (Expert Estimation, Candy or Benchmark).
• Strong knowledge of solar balance of plant, battery systems, HV substations and EPC/D&C structures.

Responsibilities

• Build resource-based labour, plant, material and subcontract cost models.
• Evaluate quotations for PV modules, inverters, batteries, turbines and transformers.
• Translate tender drawings and inputs into work and cost breakdowns and BOQs.
• Issue trade-package requests, normalise quotations and identify scope gaps.
• Model risk, contingencies and escalation for bid reviews.

The Opportunity
