Job summary

Morson Edge Australia is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead and manage the estimating function for major renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects across Australia. You will drive accurate, competitive estimates for BESS, substations and HV infrastructure, coordinating input from engineering, procurement and subcontractors to secure tenders.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, an electrical background and prior EPC estimating leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator in EPC, electrical infrastructure or renewables.
• Experience estimating BESS, substations, HV infrastructure or grid connections.
• Strong commercial and analytical capability with attention to detail.
• Understanding of Australian construction markets and electrical contracting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating function across multiple projects.
• Develop accurate, competitive and robust project estimates.
• Review tender documentation, scopes, and designs.
• Coordinate pricing from engineering, procurement, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and opportunities.
• Collaborate with project delivery and commercial teams through tender to award.
• Mentor and develop estimators within the business.
• Support senior management with tender strategy and bid reviews.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing EPC contractor delivering major renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects across Australia, with a strong focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), substations and grid connection infrastructure. They are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead and manage the estimating function, playing a key role in securing new projects. This is an opportunity to join a technically capable EPC with a strong project pipeline and have genuine influence over project strategy, pricing and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating function across multiple projects
• Develop accurate, competitive and commercially robust project estimates
• Review tender documentation, scopes, designs and project requirements
• Coordinate pricing from engineering, procurement, subcontractors and suppliers
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and opportunities
• Work closely with project delivery and commercial teams through tender to award
• Mentor and develop estimators within the business
• Support senior management with tender strategy and bid reviews

Skills & Experience

• Electrical background preferable
• Previous experience as an Estimating Manager, Senior Estimator or Lead Estimator within EPC, electrical infrastructure or renewable energy
• Experience estimating BESS, substations, HV infrastructure, grid connections or similar projects
• Understanding of Australian construction and electrical contracting markets
• Strong commercial and analytical capability with excellent attention to detail
• Experience managing subcontractor and supplier pricing
