Job summary

PCL Constructors Pacific Rim PTY Ltd. in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead a small team on utility-scale solar and BESS projects.

You will manage estimates, budgets and tender deliverables, working with operations and engineering to ensure accurate pricing and timely submissions. You will develop pursuit strategies, validate cost components and mentor junior estimators, contributing to continuous improvement in estimation standards and client engagements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction cost estimating.
• Experience leading estimating teams on major pursuits.
• Expert knowledge of estimate development and cost validation.
• Strong understanding of contract terms, risks and opportunities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Results-driven and highly organized under deadlines.
• Renewable energy or utility-scale solar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 2-4 estimators with day-to-day direction and workload planning.
• Lead estimates, budgets, RFP/RFQ responses and tender deliverables for final review and approval.
• Develop and validate estimates across labour, equipment, materials, subcontractor pricing and costs.
• Review contract documents and identify pricing requirements, risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations and engineering to align schedules with contract requirements.
• Develop pursuit strategies and present recommendations to leadership.
• Support business development in identifying high-potential opportunities and client meetings.
• Contribute to estimating standards, benchmarks, and quality-control processes.
