Job summary

PCL Constructors Pacific Rim PTY Ltd. in Sydney, New South Wales is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead a small team and drive cost estimates for large-scale solar and BESS projects.

You will guide pricing efforts, collaborate with engineering and operations, and ensure timely tender submissions. You will develop and validate cost models, review contract terms, manage risk, and work with senior leadership to shape commercial strategy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction cost estimating.
• Experience leading estimating personnel and teams.
• Expert knowledge of estimate development and review.
• Strong understanding of contract terms and risks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Results-driven, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to lead client meetings, proposals and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and develop a team of 2–4 estimators with day-to-day direction and coaching.
• Lead estimates, budgets, RFP/RFQ responses and tender deliverables for final review by leadership.
• Develop and validate estimates across labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors and costs; challenge assumptions.
• Review drawings, specs and contracts for scope, pricing, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations and engineering to align schedules and milestones with contracts.
• Develop pursuit strategies and present recommendations to leadership.
• Support business development by qualifying opportunities and building client relationships.
