Job summary

McNab on the Gold Coast is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead cost planning and tendering for a mix of multi-residential, retail and industrial projects.

You will develop winning bid strategies, collaborate with project teams, and contribute hands-on estimating expertise across repeat work, ECI opportunities and hard-dollar tenders.

• Strong estimating experience in multi-residential, retail and industrial sectors.
• Commercially astute with sharp judgement and attention to detail.
• Confident cost planning, repeat work, ECI and hard-dollar tendering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of cost plans, tenders and pricing strategies across repeat work, ECI and hard dollar opportunities.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to develop winning bid strategies.
• Contribute hands-on estimating expertise across a broad portfolio including multi-residential, retail and industrial projects.
• Review project requirements, risks and commercial opportunities for accurate, competitive submissions.
• Maintain a strong subcontractor and supplier network to support competitive tendering.
• Prepare subcontractor packages and the bill of quantities.
• Provide leadership within the estimating function and drive continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships across the business to shape bids and support growth.

About The Role

Based in our Gold Coast office, the Senior Estimator will play a hands-on leadership role in developing winning strategies, collaborating with key stakeholders, and delivering high-quality cost planning across repeat work, ECI opportunities, and hard dollar tenders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of cost plans, tenders and pricing strategies across repeat work, ECI and hard dollar opportunities.
• Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to develop winning bid strategies and support successful outcomes.
• Contribute hands-on estimating expertise across a broad portfolio of projects, including multi-residential, retail and industrial developments typically within the range of $10M-$200M range.
• Review project requirements, risks and commercial opportunities to ensure accurate, competitive and well-considered submissions.
• Maintain and leverage a strong subcontractor and supplier network across key markets and trades to support competitive tendering and informed pricing.
• Prepare subcontractor packages and the bill of quantities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to others within the estimating function, supporting collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships across the business to help shape bids, strengthen delivery and support growth.

About You

• Strong demonstratable Estimating experience within multi-residential, retail, and industrial.
• Commercially astute with excellent judgement and attention to detail.
• Confident across cost planning, repeat work, ECI and hard dollar tendering.
• Strong communicator, with effective relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to develop competitive, informed bids across a range of markets and trades.
• Background in Quantity Surveying or related discipline highly desirable
• Proficient in CostX or similar estimating software.
