Job summary

Evolve Talent is assisting a growing civil & pipeline construction contractor in Brisbane in their search for a Senior Estimator. This hands-on role requires understanding civil construction, from drawings and scope to a competitive, commercially sound estimate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Civil Estimator / Senior Estimator (civil construction).
• Experience across pipelines, drainage, concrete, utilities or general civil infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience managing tenders from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies.
• Ability to complete take-offs, pricing and cost build-ups independently.
• Established subcontractor and supplier relationships and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
• Prepare project estimates and cost plans.
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Price labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Identify project risks, exclusions and commercial opportunities.
• Prepare and submit competitive tenders.
• Work with delivery teams to ensure estimates are practical and buildable.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support tender strategy and project pricing.

Evolve Talent are supporting a growing civil & pipeline construction contractor in Brisbane, in their search for a Senior Estimator.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands civil construction, knows how projects are built, and can take a tender from drawings and scope through to a competitive, commercially sound estimate.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the end‑to‑end estimating process, including:

• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes
• Completing detailed quantity take‑offs and Bills of Quantities
• Preparing project estimates and cost plans
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs
• Identifying project risks, exclusions and commercial opportunities
• Preparing and submitting competitive tenders
• Working closely with project delivery teams to ensure estimates are practical and buildable
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
• Supporting tender strategy and project pricing

About You

We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Estimator who can work autonomously and has genuine experience estimating civil construction projects.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Civil Estimator / Senior Estimator
• Strong experience across pipelines, drainage, concrete, utilities or general civil infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience managing tenders from start to finish
• A strong understanding of civil construction methodologies
• The ability to complete your own take‑offs, pricing and cost build‑ups
• Established subcontractor and supplier relationships
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to take ownership and work with minimal hand‑holding
