HEH Civil Pty Ltd in Cairns seeks a Senior Estimator to lead and develop our estimating function for civil infrastructure projects across Queensland. You will mentor the team, review tender docs, and prepare first-principles estimates to win the right work.

You will work closely with project and operations teams to ensure accurate pricing, develop construction methodologies, obtain subcontractor quotes, and present estimates for sign-off.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years estimating experience on civil infrastructure projects in Australia.
• A degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Strong first-principles estimating and construction methodology knowledge.
• Experience pricing road, water, drainage, earthworks or other civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading and mentoring estimators.
• Sound understanding of contract conditions, risk and commercial outcomes.
• Strong skills in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to meet firm tender deadlines.
• Transport and Main Roads tender experience will be highly regarded.

HEH Civil is a respected and growing civil contractor of around 100 people, delivering road, airport, water and sewer, bridge, drainage, earthworks and other complex civil projects across Queensland.

We are large enough to tender for significant projects, but small enough that our estimators work closely with our project teams and have direct access to senior management. We hire for the long term and genuinely care about our people.

About the role

At HEH Civil, our Senior Estimator leads the estimating function and is responsible for the accuracy and quality of every estimate we submit. You will work closely with our project and operations teams to build realistic prices and play a key role in winning the right work for the business.

About you

You will be an established civil estimator who is confident leading a team and backing your numbers.

• At least 5-6 years' estimating experience on civil infrastructure projects in Australia
• A degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
• Strong first-principles estimating and construction methodology knowledge
• Experience pricing road, water, drainage, earthworks or other civil infrastructure projects
• Experience leading and mentoring estimators
• A sound understanding of contract conditions, risk and commercial outcomes
• Strong skills in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet firm tender deadlines
• Transport and Main Roads tender experience will be highly regarded
