Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join the Environmental Approvals, Closure & Management team in our Perth office. You’ll lead environmental approvals projects across mining, infrastructure, renewables and development sectors in WA, mentoring juniors and developing client relationships.

The role requires 4-8 years in environmental roles, with a degree in Environmental Science/Management or related fields.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-8 years' experience in environmental roles in consulting, industry or regulation.
• Degree in Environmental Science/Management or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary projects and client management advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing advice regarding best practice environmental impact assessment and management principles to clients and internal SLR team members
• Project Management of environmental approvals projects across multiple industries
• Assisting in the development and implementation of team business plans and strategies
• Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members
• Working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects
• Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports
• Occasional travel to undertake field assessments/ site familiarisation walkovers

We have an opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental Approvals, Closure & Management team, based in our Perth office.

The team provides a wide range of project management, environmental impact assessment, environmental advisory services across multiple sectors and clients. You’ll be working on a range of mining, infrastructure, renewables and development projects across WA. You’ll be managing project teams, liaising with clients to apply and broaden your learned expertise. This role will best suit someone between 4-8 years' experience within consulting, government or industry. You will have strengths in mentoring junior members and developing client relationships. We offer the opportunity to collaborate on projects across the wider national team as well as between multiple disciplines within the business.

Experience

• Minimum of 4-8 years' experience in environmental roles in consulting, industry or regulation
• A degree in Environmental Science/Management, Environmental Engineering or a related field
• Demonstrated experience working on or leading multidisciplinary projects
• Demonstrated client management expertise and business development skills advantageous
• Demonstrated knowledge of WA & Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines.
• Experience in the linear infrastructure, mining/resources, renewables, power and/or agribusiness sectors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
