Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our Mackay office, bringing 3+ years in Environmental Science. You will manage multidisciplinary projects, advise on best practices in impact assessment, and contribute to mining, infrastructure and energy sector initiatives across the Mackay region.

You will collaborate with our national teams and deliver high-quality reports while developing client relationships and travelling for field studies as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Working knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation, policies, standards and guidelines.
• Experience in mining, infrastructure, power or agribusiness sectors valued but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with consulting software and intermediate-advanced Excel skills.
• Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Develop, facilitate and enhance client and internal relationships.
• Mine rehabilitation and closure planning.
• Plans of Operations/Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plans.
• Mining approvals support and regulatory advice.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across sectors.
• Deliver clear, high-quality reports.
• Occasional field studies travel.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven &experiencedEnvironmental Consultantto join our internationally recognisedEnvironmental Approvals, Management & Closure team, from our established Mackay office.
Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will have 3+ years’ experience in Environmental Consulting. Regulatory and/or mining experience will be viewed favourably but is not required, with the right attitude and aptitude we will provide you with training and guidance.
You will enjoy undertaking project work whilstlearning from an experienced teamanddeveloping client relationshipsthroughout the region. You will also collaborate on exciting projects and initiatives with the national team and other teams within our multi-disciplinary business.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing, facilitating, and enhancingeffective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members
• Mine Rehabilitation and Closure Plans
• Plans of Operations/Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plans
• Mining approvals
• Providing advice regarding best practice environmental impact assessment and management principles to clients and internal SLR team members
• Working within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors
• Delivering clear and precise, high quality reports
• Occasional travel to undertake field studies

Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour as well as have:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
• 3 years + experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Working knowledge of QLD environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines
• Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Consulting software and intermediate-advanced excel skills.
• Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
