Job summary

University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney is seeking a Lead Integration Engineer (Student) to lead design, delivery and operation of enterprise-class integration services within the StARs domain. The role drives data/technical architecture and lifecycle management of complex integrations across enterprise, cloud, and third-party systems.

The candidate will mentor teams, shape standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable student data exchange.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating large ERPs (preferably PeopleSoft) with SaaS and cloud-native integration platforms.
• Proven advanced experience leading the delivery and operation of enterprise-scale integration services.
• Experience with API-based and event-driven integration architectures.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise-level leadership for data and integration architecture across the Student Sub-Domain suite of services and products.
• Manage and govern data and integration standards, patterns, and best practices aligned to UNSW enterprise architecture and integration strategies for the subdomain.
• Act as the senior technical authority and escalation point for complex integration, performance, and security issues.
• Lead the design and delivery of highly complex, mission-critical integration solutions for the subdomain.
• Ensure integration solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements.
• Review vendor integration designs and technical proposals to ensure they meet UNSW standards and business needs.
• Monitor ongoing performance and operation of integrations to ensure efficiency and fit for purpose.
• Develop plans to evolve legacy integrations to more mature architectures and platforms, reducing technical debt.
