AEMO, Australia’s independent energy system and market operator, is seeking a Senior Engineer to shape the future of Australia’s power system through advanced analysis and expert engineering advice. You will lead modelling, assess network capability, and mentor engineers while collaborating with government and industry partners.

The role focuses on the Integrated System Plan and long‑term planning, with responsibilities spanning methodology, stakeholder engagement, and delivering timely,

Competenze

• Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering with experience in power system analysis.
• Strong knowledge of power system dynamics and transmission networks.
• Experience with PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar tools.

Mansioni

• Deliver high‑quality power system analysis and modelling to assess system security, reliability, and development.
• Provide expert engineering advice to support planning outcomes, applying sound judgement in uncertain and time constrained environments.
• Assess future system needs including network augmentation, system strength, inertia, and voltage control for increasing inverter based and distributed resources.
• Lead end to end project delivery, including methodology, analysis, quality assurance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop constraint equations and inputs to support market modelling of future system security, reliability, and development pathways.
• Manage multiple priorities while communicating insights clearly, building stakeholder relationships, and coaching engineers to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
