Job summary

Spend-Less Shoes is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team at the Gillman Support Office. You will oversee fortnightly end-to-end payroll for 1,200+ employees across multiple entities, states and territories, acting as operational 2IC for the Payroll & Compliance Manager.

You will ensure accurate, timely payroll processing, compliance with Australian legislation, and seamless collaboration with People & Culture, Finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full payroll lifecycle end-to-end.
• Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and awards.
• Hands-on in a large, multi-entity payroll environment.
• Strong analytical and numerical capability.

Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly payroll for 1,200+ employees across entities and states.
• Manage payroll across multiple companies and entities nationwide.
• Review time and attendance data and resolve payroll exceptions.
• Handle employee changes, deductions, and terminations.
• Complete payroll validation, reconciliations, and post-payroll tasks.
• Ensure correct PAYG, superannuation, and statutory payments.
• Investigate complex payroll discrepancies and queries.
• Provide senior technical reference within the Payroll team.
• Support Payroll Manager and act as 2IC when needed.
• Collaborate with People & Culture, Finance and ops teams.
