Job summary

The Shoe Group (TSG) is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team at the Gillman Support Office. This senior, hands-on role covers end-to-end payroll for 1,200+ employees across multiple entities and states, reporting to the Payroll & Compliance Manager.

You will act as the operational 2IC for Payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance and on-time delivery while supporting complex payroll cycles and advising stakeholders across People & Culture and Finance.

Qualifications

• Around 10 years' experience in payroll, with hands-on end-to-end processing experience.
• Experience processing payroll for a large workforce (500+ employees).
• Payroll across multiple Australian states/territories.
• Strong knowledge of PAYG, superannuation, and leave/deductions/termination payments.

Responsibilities

• Undertake end-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll for 1,200+ employees across multiple entities.
• Manage payroll across multiple employers, entities, states and territories.
• Review and validate time and attendance data; resolve payroll exceptions.
• Process employee changes, allowances, deductions, adjustments, leave, back payments and terminations.
• Complete payroll validation, reconciliations, finalisation and post-payroll activities.
• Ensure compliance with Modern Awards and payroll legislation; proper PAYG and superannuation treatment.
