Synapse- Canada seeks a Firmware Developer to maintain and extend embedded software for our traffic products. The role emphasizes accessibility for visually impaired users and requires robust C programming on ARM Cortex platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, test, and debug firmware, participate in design reviews, and ensure reliable hardware bring-up using standard lab tools. A startup culture with growth opportunities awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience with ARM Cortex M4/M7 and RTOS is preferred.
• Experience with interfaces and hardware protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance embedded software for existing product lines.
• Participate in the embedded software system design cycle from requirements through launch and beyond.
• Design, develop, code, test, and debug embedded software.
• Integrate, verify, and validate new product designs and design changes.
• Perform design and code reviews.
• Interface with a cross-functional engineering team.
• Support the Tech Support team with intimate product knowledge.
• Contribute to a fun and innovative work environment.
