Job summary

Astill’s Electrical Services on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a strong people leader to own and develop our trade team at Kunda Park. You’ll report to the Operations Manager and supervise daily scheduling, delivery of electrical, solar and air conditioning works, and mentor a team of electricians and apprentices across the region.

Qualifications

• Queensland Electrical Licence is required.
• Construction White Card required.
• At least five years’ experience in electrical services.
• Proven experience leading teams, scheduling work and managing job costs.
• Strong technical knowledge and a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Confidence using software, reports and performance data.
• Clear communication and commitment to customer service.
• Ability to obtain a Blue Card.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing our Sunshine Coast electricians and apprentices.
• Taking ownership of scheduling, job planning and resource allocation.
• Supervising works to ensure quality, compliance and timely completion.
• Monitoring budgets, labour performance and materials costs.
• Providing technical guidance, mentoring and troubleshooting support.
• Setting expectations, recognising good work and addressing performance concerns.
• Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Leading pre-starts and driving practical safety improvements.
• Identifying better ways of working and helping put them into practice.

The opportunity

Reporting to our Operations Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day scheduling, supervision and delivery of general electrical, solar and air conditioning works. You’ll join an eleven-person supervisory team across our regions, sharing knowledge, solving challenges together and supporting each other with a ONE TEAM mentality. Locally, you’ll lead our Sunshine Coast trade team, with a Supervisor and Storeman reporting directly to you.

We’re looking for a true leader: someone who builds trust, sets clear expectations, has the difficult conversations when needed and helps people become better at what they do. You’ll be firm, fair and approachable, taking responsibility for both your team’s performance and the culture you create.

You’ll have the opportunity to make this area your own, supported by our office, estimating and leadership teams.

What you’ll be doing

Who we’re looking for

You’re an experienced electrician with proven supervisory experience and the ability to bring a team with you. You lead by example, stay calm under pressure and follow through on what you say.

You take pride in developing others, welcome accountability and want to grow beyond your current role.

You’ll bring:

• A current Queensland Electrical Licence and Construction White Card.
• Ideally, at least five years’ experience in electrical services.
• Proven experience leading teams, scheduling work and managing job costs.
• Strong technical knowledge and a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Confidence using software, reports and performance data.
• Clear communication and a commitment to customer service.
• The ability to obtain a Blue Card.

Experience across solar and air conditioning, along with relevant QBCC nominee qualifications, will be highly regarded.
