Job summary

MSD Electrical Group Pty Ltd in Brisbane is seeking a qualified A-Grade Electrician to run domestic and commercial electrical projects end to end, from planning to certification. You will lead apprentices and coordinate with our Director, delivering quality work on time.

The role offers up to $65 per hour, super, overtime, a $2,000 sign-on bonus after probation, and a 38-hour week on Monday to Friday. A company van and phone support are provided, plus ongoing training in switchboards, solar,

Qualifications

• UK/ AU context: must have AS/NZS 3000 knowledge and be able to certify works.
• Experience with testing and certification processes is essential.
• Must hold White Card and A-Grade Electrical Licence; able to mentor apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Run assigned jobs from start to finish within the quoted timeframe.
• Install and maintain domestic and commercial electrical systems, plus related low-voltage work.
• Test, energise and certify electrical works and logs for apprentices.
• Supervise and mentor apprentices, set work and review logbooks weekly.
• Communicate clearly with clients on start, progress and completion.

About the role

As a qualified A-Grade Electrician, you'll run jobs end to end - plan, install, test, energise and certify - across domestic and commercial work. You'll report directly to our Director and bring apprentices through to the same standard you hold yourself to.

What's on offer

• Up to $65 per hour, depending on experience, plus superannuation
• $2,000 sign-on bonus, paid on successful completion of probation
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for the first two hours, then double time; Sundays and public holidays at double time
• Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm (standard 38-hour week)
• Work van provided, plus a work mobile phone or your phone bill paid
• Ongoing training - switchboard builds, and short courses in solar and battery, air con, security, CCTV, access control, lighting control and automation

What you'll be doing

• Run assigned jobs from start to finish, within the quoted timeframe
• Install and maintain domestic and commercial electrical systems, plus air con rough-in and low-voltage/ELV work for security, CCTV, access control, lighting control and automation
• Test, energise and sign the Certificate of Test and ESO Notification / Certificate of Compliance for your work and your apprentices' work
• Supervise and mentor apprentices - set the work, check it, sign off logbooks weekly
• Communicate clearly with clients on start, progress and completion
• Complete pre-starts, JSAs/SWMS and use the right PPE on every job
• Log time and materials daily in AroFlo
• Keep your van, tools and sites clean, tidy and in good order

What we're looking for

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820 or recognised equivalent)
• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence (A-Grade)
• Solid working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and confident testing and certification
• Current Construction Induction (White) Card and Australian driver's licence
• Right to work in Australia; clear National Police Check
• High standard of workmanship, a positive attitude and a willingness to mentor apprentices
• EWP / scissor lift, working at heights or confined-space tickets
• Experience in switchboard builds, air conditioning, security, CCTV, access control, lighting control or automation
• Experience with AroFlo or similar job management software
