Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Silverwater NSW is seeking a Senior Overseer - Electrical within Facilities Maintenance at Silverwater Correctional Complex. You will lead electrical maintenance operations, mentor Overseers and inmates, and ensure safe, high‑quality service delivery across the complex.

The role requires a trade qualification in Electrical, a current NSW electrical licence or supervisor certificate, and a willingness to work across trades with after‑hours on‑call

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Electrical and a current NSW electrical licence or supervisor certificate.
• Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or willingness to obtain.
• Current driver licence and ability to drive a vehicle.
• Experience leading Overseers and mentoring inmates.
• Willingness to work after-hours on-call roster.
• Ability to plan, coordinate maintenance and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical maintenance operations across the correctional complex.
• Guide Overseers and develop inmates through practical workplace training.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance, manage resources and budgets.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure safe, high-quality service delivery.
