Job summary

Quickway is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical, instrumentation, control and EICA systems across water and wastewater projects in Sydney and NSW. You will guide design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning with project teams and stakeholders.

The role offers opportunities to work in a self-performing Design & Construct environment on major water infrastructure, with a focus on safety, quality and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree required.
• 8–10 years delivering complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience with water and wastewater pumping stations and HV/LV infra.
• Experience managing electrical design consultants and subcontractors.

Working as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Quickway is Exciting

Quickway has been delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia for more than 19 years. We specialise in Roads & Bridges, Concrete Structures, Tunnels, Rail, Communications, Electrical, Water and Traffic Management.

Due to the continued growth of our Water Infrastructure division, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a self-performing Design & Construct environment, delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Sydney and New South Wales.

You will play a key role in providing technical leadership across Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and ion (EICA) systems, supporting projects from tender and design development through procurement, construction, testing and commissioning.

About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating electrical engineering activities across a portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Teams, Design Consultants, Utility Providers, Suppliers and Specialist Subcontractors, you will help deliver complex infrastructure solutions that support essential water services throughout New South Wales.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and coordinate electrical and EICA engineering activities across project portfolios.
• Manage electrical scope delivery from concept and detailed design through construction and commissioning.
• Review electrical designs for compliance, constructability and operational requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, design consultants, utility providers and specialist subcontractors.
• Manage procurement of switchboards, MCCs, VSDs, transformers, instrumentation, telemetry and control systems.
• Coordinate utility interfaces and electrical authority requirements.
• Support development of project methodologies, sequencing and construction planning.
• Participate in design reviews, risk workshops and constructability assessments.
• Oversee electrical subcontractors during installation and commissioning phases.
• Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover activities.
• Support PLC, SCADA and telemetry integration activities.
• Provide technical mentoring and leadership to project teams.
• Contribute to tender development, value engineering and project innovation initiatives.

What You Will Bring

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8-10 years' experience delivering complex infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience working on:
• Water and wastewater pumping stations.
• High and low voltage electrical infrastructure.
• Instrumentation, telemetry and SCADA systems.
• Industrial electrical systems.
• Experience managing electrical design consultants, specialist vendors and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of testing, commissioning and operational handover requirements.Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to safety, quality and project delivery.
• Experience working on Sydney Water or similar utility authority projects will be highly regarded.
