Job summary

The successful candidate will manage electrical projects, perform calculations and simulations, prepare detailed drawings, and ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000 and IEC standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licence or equivalent qualification, or willingness to obtain one.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering, preferably in renewable energy, power generation, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design software and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar applications.
• Proficiency in electrical codes and standards including AS/NZS 3000 and IEC standards.
• Demonstrated experience in power systems, circuit design, and electrical distribution.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in team environments.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and systems is highly desirable.
• Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, design, and develop electrical systems, components, and solutions in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct electrical calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimise system performance and efficiency
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for electrical projects
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems to identify and resolve faults
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, technicians, and other engineering disciplines
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations
• Provide technical support and guidance to the site operations teams and technicians
• Participate in project planning and contribute to cost and timeline estimations
• Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering technology and industry best practices
