Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane-based Mining team. This role leads complex brownfield and greenfield mining projects, shaping the electrical engineering capability across Queensland and beyond.

You will pair technical excellence with client leadership, project delivery and mentoring of engineers and designers, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Australia to ensure safe, on-time, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• RPEQ registration or eligible to obtain registration.
• Experience delivering mining, minerals processing, resources or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical design standards and industry best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and delivery for mining and resource sector projects.
• Provide technical leadership across power distribution, substations, MCCs, HV/LV systems and associated infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers and designers.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
• Take ownership of project scope, deliverables, quality, schedule and technical outcomes.
• Lead electrical studies, design reviews, calculations and technical assurance activities.
• Support business development activities, proposals and client engagement.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams across Australia.
• Review and approve engineering documentation, specifications and technical reports.
• Identify and manage project risks while driving practical, value-focused solutions.
• Contribute to the continued growth and capability development of the Mining team.
