Job summary

UGL is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, Primary Systems, for its North Sydney-based Utilities engineering team. You will provide conceptual and detailed primary design for HV substations, transmission, BESS, solar and wind farm projects, leading design packages and coordinating interfaces.

As a senior team member, you will check outputs, provide technical direction, and collaborate with project, tendering, construction and business development teams to deliver practical, safe, constructible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Eight+ years in primary design of HV plants or substations.
• Proven experience leading primary substation design packages across major utility, mining or renewable projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead primary design packages and coordinate engineering deliverables across tender and project phases.
• Develop and review substation configurations, plant layouts, busbar systems and equipment specs.
• Oversee HV cable, earthing, lightning protection, insulation coordination, EMF and lighting design.
