Job summary

Fuse Energy appoints an electrical authority for grid connection works, utility-scale solar PV, BESS and data centre power infra in Australia. You will own electrical design across generation, storage and demand, ensuring safe, compliant energisation to Australian requirements.

HV expertise is highly valued. You will lead design packages, support development through handover, and provide engineering assurance across all electrical deliverables with a focus on Australian standards and licensing

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience in power, utilities, renewables, or critical infrastructure.
• Substantial HV experience in the Australian market preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Australian grid standards and safety frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Produce and own electrical designs across grid, solar, BESS and data centre projects.
• Develop design packages from concept through detailed design (single-line diagrams, equipment specs, protection schemes).
• Provide input from development through handover; align design with procurement and construction and resolve technical queries.
• Support due diligence and lender advisory; provide engineering assurance across electrical deliverables.

This role is the electrical authority across grid connection works, utility-scale solar PV, BESS and data centre power infrastructure in Australia, from development through commissioning and handover. You'll own and deliver electrical design and ensure all systems (generation, storage, demand) are designed, installed, tested and energised safely, compliantly and to Australian requirements. Strong preference for candidates with substantial HV experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as electrical SME across grid, solar, BESS and data centre projects; produce and own electrical designs across the portfolio
• Develop design packages from concept through detailed design: single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, protection schemes, cable sizing and earthing and bonding
• Provide electrical input from development through handover; align design intent with procurement and construction and resolve technical queries
• Support technical due diligence and lender advisory; provide engineering assurance across all electrical deliverables and act as escalation point for complex issues

• 5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience in power, utilities, renewables, or critical infrastructure; strong preference for substantial HV experience in the Australian market
• Proven design background, able to produce and own electrical designs, not only review others' work
• Strong infrastructure delivery experience across utility-scale solar, BESS, or grid-connected assets in Australia
• Deep understanding of electrical systems, substations, protection, and power distribution design (generation and demand)
• Working knowledge of Australian grid standards, including AEMO technical requirements, DNSP connection standards, the National Electricity Rules, and AS/NZS electrical standards, with the ability to interpret electrical studies
• Critical eye for reviewing consultant and subcontractor designs; strong grasp of Australian safety frameworks including the Electricity Safety Act, state-based electrical licensing requirements, and relevant codes of practice
