Job summary

Talent Associates Recruitment Pty Ltd in Melbourne seeks Senior Primary Engineer or Senior Secondary Engineer to lead high‑voltage and extra high‑voltage electrical designs for utility, renewable energy and grid infrastructure projects.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with AS/NZS and IEC standards, and deliver detailed design documentation for transmission and substations across 132kV+ networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience delivering transmission and substation projects in a consulting environment.

Senior Primary Engineer & Senior Secondary Engineer

Talent Associates is partnering with a rapidly growing Melbourne-based electrical engineering consultancy experiencing significant growth across the energy, transmission, renewables and infrastructure sectors.

With several major project wins secured over the past six months, the business is entering an exciting phase of expansion and is seeking an experienced Senior Primary Engineer and Senior Secondary Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of high-voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) power systems across utility, renewable energy and power infrastructure projects.

The Opportunities

As a Senior Primary Engineer or Senior Secondary Engineer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, compliant electrical primary designs, resolving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring integration across multidisciplinary teams.

Working across transmission, substations and broader grid infrastructure, you will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering solutions while mentoring junior engineers and driving technical excellence across project delivery.

About You

You are a technically strong design professional with extensive experience delivering transmission and substation projects within a consulting environment.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Strong experience delivering transmission and substation projects.
• Proven experience with 132kV+ infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or REVIT.
• Strong understanding of AS/NZS standards, IEC frameworks and utility requirements.
• Experience working within engineering consultancies.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Chartered Engineer status or currently working towards chartership
• Exposure to large-scale transmission, renewable energy and grid connection projects.
